Ideas for community access and social participation

Haven Community Care · Guide

Community access is about taking part in life outside the home: shared interests, local events, shopping, sport, volunteering and simply spending time with other people.

Start with something you already enjoy and build from there. A few ideas: a walk or picnic in a local park, a library or community centre group, a craft or music class, a café catch-up, or a local sporting event.

Your support worker can help with planning, transport and building confidence, at a pace that suits you. Our Group & Centre-Based Activities offer another way to meet people and try new things.

This guide is general information only. For advice about your NDIS plan, contact the NDIS on 1800 800 110 or talk to our team.
